“This is Bernard Shaw. I’m under the table now.”
I’m hiding in my room because my great-aunt has a friend over who smokes like a chimney. And I’m allergic to cigarette smoke, and the smell hit me as soon as I walked into the house. And now my entire face itches like fuck—nose, eyes, ears, everything. I feel sort of bad about not being sociable, but seriously, I can’t stand cigarette smoke. And I’ve just taken so allergy medication, so there’s a good chance I’m going to get pretty loopy very soon.
But I pretty much just posted this because I wanted to use that Bernard Shaw quote. I’m glad he lived that down. He’s actually a pretty cool guy and hell, if I was reporting from Baghdad during Gulf War, I’d probably do nothing but hide under tables.

UGH that’s awful. Especially because the smell and shit will linger long after your aunt’s friend leaves. I hate cigarette smoke, but I can’t imagine how much worse it is where you are right now. :( Could you go outside for awhile?
