Mel Brooks tells David Bianculli about the late Madeline Kahn:

I’m in tears thinking about Madeline. And what an incredibly gifted gift from god, Madeline Kahn. The funniest and most talented comedienne I think, including people like Carol Burnett who are great, you know, and Gilda Radner who was magnificent, but nobody — listen to me, David Bianculli — nobody could approach the magnificence and wonder of Madeline Kahn. She was really a great gift to us all. … I saw art [in her], not just funny. But I saw a person who was gifted with art. She’s the only one who actually could have worked in opera as an opera singer, as a coloratura. She was that talented or I think she could have worked as a longshoreman in New Jersey. I don’t think there’s anything that Madeline Kahn couldn’t do.”

WISHBONE WAS SO LEGIT.

you know it

I learned so much from this motherfucking dog

there are so many books I’ve never read but know the plot to thanks to this dog.

wishbone is literally how i have any knowledge of the ‘classics’

and he’s my hero

This makes me want to dress my doggie up in many outfits, but I’m a good mommy, so I won’t.

I will never stop loving Wishbone.

We are torn between a nostalgia for the familiar and an urge for the foreign and strange. As often as not, we are homesick most for the places we have never known.

I’ve Made a Huge Mistake.

Just a lot of personal, I’m-such-an-ass bitching and moaning under the cut. You’ve been warned.

About

Avatar wants to be something to someone. likes faint things--faint scents and soft colors and intimations of things, traces of emotions and so on. likes warmth. thinks too much. psychs herself out. is repelled by competition. is not living so much as just killing time, to paraphrase thom yorke. reads like there's no tomorrow. feels like a coincidence. shows her admiration with irreverence. will watch any movie and all movies. doesn't understand herself. realizes the absurdity of the situation.
